MONTREAL - An appreciation for style seems to be inherent in the residents of Montreal. Yet, we all know what a dig such an appreciation can take to one’s budget. Walking around the sidewalks of the city during the summer months is akin to attending a fashion show in Milan – the clothes, the shoes, the hair. When it comes to finding a decent stylist in Montreal, it can be a challenge to locate someone sassy and youthful enough to meet the Montreal scene-ster standards without throwing down a month’s worth of rent – or at least, a month’s worth of internet.
Lo and behold the Aveda Salon Spa & Académie, located at 3613 St. Laurent Boulevard. The Académie trains new stylists in the ways of beauty and aesthetics, haircuts included. Having one of these well-trained and enthusiastic stylists cut your hair – using extreme precision and Aveda products to boot – costs just 15.00$ plus tax (and tip, which is completely worthwhile after the special treatment they provide).
The experience begins in the attractive waiting lounge, where one comfortably awaits to be greeted by the stylist. You will then be offered your choice of invigorating Aveda tea, coffee, or water, and will be led upstairs for a relaxing hair-wash and shoulder massage in the funky loft-style salon. The smell of the Aveda products alone is enough to calm even the most frazzled among us.
The stylist will then discuss with you the look you hope to accomplish, meanwhile paying close attention to the health and texture of your hair. They are extremely adept and eager to listen, making each person feel like high-class clientele.
The price of 15.00$ is truly a steal; for the quality of experience, and for the precision of the cut, going to the Aveda Salon Spa & Académie is worth every penny
