Yaletown - like a restaurant candy store for adults.

VANCOUVER - Yes! A night out! Slam shut your note-books, make your computer do the best thing it's ever done: shut off. Click the lights off wherever you work or study and strut happily away. It's time to take it easy, time for number one, time to relax and unwind. Or, party and play? You know you want to. Now, where to go...

Yaletown.

Call up your friends, or just someone special, and get your tush out there.

Yaletown is stock full of amazing restaurants and shops - from lower price points to the ultra fancy - and so is a fantastic destination for the weary worker in need. Pretty much every restaurant has some form of glorious patio. You just can't go wrong. And if it's you and your pooch, those patio's make for a great place for your friend to lounge with you, albeit out on the walkway; but he or she won't be too lonely, it's common to see a furry friend hanging out along the cobblestones.

Some of my favorites are:

Yaletown Brew Pub:

Casual dining on one side, a good old fashion pub/bar on the other. My one favourite thing about this delicious little spot, is it's Martini Night. Their mixologists behind the bar get their chance to show off their creativity in designing new and fabulously tasty ways to get you tipsy. And what better way to find out who's done it the best, than to give the public a taste, at a gulpworthy price, and scorecards t'boot.

Georges:

If you're in the mood for a more lounge-like atmosphere, Georges is a posh little spot with a great drink menu and good music. You've gotta watch out on those weekends though. I've gone and played body ping pong with the patrons. But, still, it was worth it. As long as your pocket book is feeling thick, you'll be fine. This isn't really a budget type place to play.

Chocatl Chocolate Boutique:

Why? Because I adore chocolate. They have multiple types of hot chocolate, truffles and chocolates to tease your taste buds. It's chocolate: I can't love it enough.

On my to do list, Brix. I've heard great things about it and would love to give it a try.

The last thing you need to know, is with the new Skytrain line right at the edge of Yaletown, you don't have to worry about parking, or finding that pesky designated driver. So with the skytriain and billion and two bus routes that run near and around the area, let the transit system escort you home.

Cobblestone walkways.. restaurants.. shops.. Definitely a great place to spend some spare time in van-city.

Looks like a great area for young trendy travellers to check out. I like the vibe here...

definitely :p You mentioned you were curious where a good place to have a drink would be. This is the place! You have your pick of awesomeness. When you come into town let me know.. we'll hit up a patio together. Maybe hit that mixology night. I haven't been in a while :)
