Café Névé Montreal

MONTREAL - If you’re self employed (like myself) then you’re always looking for the perfect cafe to cozy in and make yourself comfortable in the hopes of a productive work session. Some crucial factors us laptop carrying, coffee guzzling types might consider are; are there enough outlets for me to plug in my laptop? Since I’m going to be here are while, is the coffee good? Can I work here, or will I just end up people watching and wasting my time?

The answer to the first of those two questions are yes and yes. At Café Névé a cute off-the-main establishment, there is never a shortage of outlets. And while this might be a interesting starting point for this article, it certainly is a priority for me to have strategically placed outlets in a coffee shop that has Wi fi--I’ve wasted too much time at Second Cup and bigger coffee shops waiting in line for someone to finish charging their laptop. At Café Névé, there are multiple places you can set up shop. You can grab a comfy seat on the couch, which is slightly more separate from the rest of the seating area but gets plenty of natural light. You can also take a seat at the tables or in the communal work station, which is one large table with several chairs. If you have qualms about your personal space; then this isn’t the spot for you. People here are encourage to share space, which means that your table isn’t really your table. That’s probably my favourite thing about Café Névé, even though everyone is busily typing away on their Macs, the shared space translates into a cozy family type vibe which makes staying and staying very easy.

I’ve heard the coffee here is good and while I’m no coffee connoisseur I can vouch for the Capacinno as the perfect amount of froth and flavor. Cookies are freshly baked daily and come in a big chunky sizes, something I’m sure everyone can appreciate!

In conclusion, I can guarantee that you will have somewhere to sit, and that your taste buds will enjoy this experience....but will you be productive? Well, as long as you’re not distracted by the good looking cafe staff and their hipster patrons, then this is the plateau spot for you.
