The Cliff, as the name suggests, is situated atop a large cliff which overlooks the tranquil water on the west coast. The Cliff is one of the island’s most prestigious restaurants; some of its patrons include celebrities, politicians and world statesmen. The restaurant’s décor is simple, understated and elegant with torches and candles creating a wonderful ambience.
The restaurant is terraced so that all of the tables have a view of the sea. The best tables are ‘rail side’ and the further in advance a booking is made, the more likely you are to get one of them. The restaurant, which is open for dinner only, serves modern international cuisine with a Thai twist. Patrons can either opt to have a 2 course meal consisting of a starter and a main, or a main and a dessert for $245 Bds ($122 US); or a 3 course meal for $295 Bds ($148 US).

Impeccable service and fabulous food
The Cliff has been named one of the 50 best restaurants in the world which is not surprising really. When I visited in late 2008, I was lucky enough to get a rail side table. The evening was wonderful with impeccable service and fabulous food. It’s a wonderful spot for a romantic dinner with the sound of the sea at the bottom of the cliff after which the restaurant is named. The best description that I can give of The Cliff is superb. Book in advance and enjoy this magical restaurant.
