It's so nice to dive when the water is 28 degress celcius
I tried Reefers and Wreckers this winter; it’s a local business that’s located in the heart of Speightsown. I did 2 dives which was hilarious. We suit up, get in the boat and I’m expecting a good 20 min boat ride but literally 2 mins later, if that, we’re there! There are 2 dive sites located off Port St. Charles (where I live) and Speightstown.
If you’re looking for a group of young guys that are typically bajan, (very chill and easy to get along with) this is your spot. Now I’m not going to lie but the diving in Barbados doesn’t even come close to beating out Thailand (I was certified in Koh phi phi) Belize, New Zealand, or from what I hear, the Red Sea which sounds awesome. But hey…..you’re in Barbados and the water is very warm…..you could get away without wearing a dive suit but I still put on one…..after 40 mins underwater I get cold.
Make sure to ask the team at Reefers and Wreckers when they venture out to the largest ship wreck dive in Barbados…”The Stavronikita”. They’ll only trek down to the southern part of the island if there are enough people in the group. Try these guys out and let me know what you think about the diving in Barbados.
