Maui review:
I haven’t seen all the other Hawaiian Islands but the vibe I got visiting Maui was that it’s found the right balance between respecting nature and not being too developed (yet). Maui has many micro climates which makes it very lush in some parts and dry in others. I recall driving with the sun shinning, windows down with my head poking out when suddenly the rain came out of nowhere forcing me to hit power windows up! This would happen many times some days.
Typical of any US territory, the roads are great (we’re so used to bad roads in Montreal) and the island is very safe. There are plenty of activities on Maui. You can scuba dive, hike, jog, play golf, eat, and of course surf. I must warn you though….nightlife on Maui is nearly non-existent and that’s probably a good thing. Trust me, if you can stay up past 10 pm I would be impressed. There’s just something about this island that makes you want to hit the hay early and wake up early….be active. Enjoy!
