Description is not entirely on the money

Our first experience at mechant beouf wasn’t the best. I was expecting more from the menu as there has been some hype surrounding their burgers – but was surprised to find only one on the menu?? Between a couple of us, we ordered the ceviche as a starter (which was ok, a little too spicy), the tartare trio (salmon, beef and tuna) and split their Boris beer-can chicken – all of which were bland and lacked taste. The fries were good – but I’m sure that’s not what they’re hyping!
The service was really slow, the dj played some old school tunes which was nice but the volume was jacked which made dinner conversations a little painful. The crowd was pretentious as expected but it’s what they’re targeting. You can tell they’re trying hard, just failing on delivery – spend your money and time elsewhere.

Bel Ha Beach

I recently had the opportunity to stay at Bel Ha.

The one comment I keep repeating to everyone, and feel compelled to share with Tripulu readers, is that it sits on one of the best beaches I have ever been to (and I’ve visited over 12 Caribbean islands). The sand is perfectly soft and white, the waves are not too rough, the water is warm and the color is so blue it looks fake. Really one of the best I’ve experienced.

Like the previous review, the villa is typically Mexican – open, white and simple but fits the environment perfectly. I was never uncomfortable sitting on the sofa or fearful that I would accidently break an expensive vase. The staff were incredible and very accommodating. With their home-cooked meals and incredible guacamole, they made every effort to make sure we were comfortable and well fed throughout the week. It’s important to note however that they do not speak any English so it’s best to travel with someone who can speak Spanish or even better, learn it before you go!

Feel free to contact me if you’re interested in visiting!
