So here I am… Wed afternoon on St Jean (a quebec holiday)… high of 29 degree sun out, this place is great. Really wick lounge music and they also have sun chairs for the sun worshipers… mmmm Sun tanners…. Man this is hard to write this review i am soo distracted right now… god speed

Great Food ... Great Lounge

Just off McGill in the Old Port, this hide away is fantastic. At first you would as where am I, then you start to see the people passing by and so you diced to sit cause that is what you do when you people watch. The waiter comes out with a very impressive selection of Asian beers for you to wet your pallet (they are not samples, its just a menu of beers). I have not found too many place with quite a vast selection, then it is time to choose food.

What is great is that they have a evening sushi menu and they also have a great selection of vegetarian dishes. So i have to try just about 5-6 dishes… good thing there was more than myself. Out of all the dishes i did not find a bad one even the sushi was very well priced and it was great quality.

So if your strolling in the old port and you end up on McGill street, i highly recommend stopping by Aziatik.

Beer Brewed on Spot

A great place to hang out and listen to a live band. One of the better pubs in Montreal, this place has about 5-6 home brews which are really good. I have been here a few times and find myself upstairs playing table curling which always get a crowd going.

Lexy Piano Bar

Last Stop on the Bar Crawl

Live Piano Man… every Friday, then again they might have it every night I don’t know, but i know they have one on Fridays.

For some odd reason Second Street is happening on Fridays and with that there is always a procedure that you start on the top of the street and you end up at Piano Bar with out fail. There is a much older crowd that what I am used to, (I guess it is the crowd that I should be with) but the piano man brings it together all the time.

Enjoy the environment and enjoy the entertainment.

The Beach House

Not really a house

Located in Holetown, i would recommend this place during the day. A great place to stop off for a bite to eat, plus they have a great lunch time buffet that locals often frequent on a daily basis.

If i am not mistaken that also have a live Jazz band on Friday nights, I did not have the opportunity to see them but I have heard great things.

The beautiful thing about Beach House is that it is right on the water, you can have a good meal under the protection of the canopy and get lost in the view of the ocean. A great place if you are travelling by yourself.

Cafe Luna

Under the Moon

Cafe Luna has a very romantic setting, an peacfull place to take a loved one. Yet if you are traveling solo it is a great place just to relax and feel at ease.

What i most enjoyed about the place was the food a very tasty and yet intriguing blend of Asian and North American. They had very bold flavors and very unique combinations, tastes that will linger in you mind for a couple of days.

Overall this place is off the path, steps form the beach, friendly, relaxing, and you can have a great meal.

mmmmm Smoke Meat

Well what can I say about Schwartz… There is always a line up, they opened a take out section next door. Its a staple of Montreal, its quick and easy. The black cherry drink is a must. If you are a health nut well then I would suggest going in on you cheat day and ordering the “lean cut”.

If you have never tired smoke meat you are missing out.

Harbour Lights

Oh Harbour Lights

What a place. First off all you can drink for $25usd for men and $20usd for women. How sweet is that! Plus the all you can drink is not alcohol that will make you go blind if you drink too much, the booze is of half decent quality. If you want premium stuff they have it as well at an extra cost.

As for the bar; it is an open air concept, with an area full of sand so you have the feeling of being on the beach with out the worry of how far you need to go in order to get a drink. If it rains a little it just enhances the mood, i think the best feeling is dancing in the rain (remind you it is warm rain, not cold rain like in Canada) sand between your toes, good people and good fun.

If you are like me and tend to get hungry when you drink, they have a on site grill with the best cheese burgers on the island. mmmmm mmmm mmmmm!

Waterfront Cafe

Nice place in Bridgetown

What I like most about this place is that it is out of the hustle ad bustle of Bridgetown. Located just on the outskirts of the downtown core it provides a little peace and quite to figure out the next maneuver.

The food is okay nothing to write home to mom about, they also have evenings full of music and buffet dinners. I don’t remember the exact nights for the buffet but there is basically a band almost every night.

Piece of India in Barbados

If your into curries and the wonderful dynamic tastes of India then this is a great place. Up in Holetown Sitar has some great food. The ambiance is okay, the decor is moderate, you can see that they need a minor face lift. As for the food, it is spot on with chefs directly from India you can taste the passion in the food. I recommend the lamb racks and some nan with a curry dish. MMMM MMMM MMMMM.

They also have a shesha lounge in the back with traditional Indian instruments to rock out on. a relaxing place for after your meal.

Scarlet

Scarlet...Good Times

I went to Scarlet after hearing that it had a great value for the food and an even better selection of cocktails. Well the selection of cocktails was very unique, they had a special cocktail of the day. you can get some quite interesting tastes that you would never have though of creating yourself. As for the food, it really is a bang for the buck. If you like quality food then I highly recommend this place.

And the background tunes are great. i almost went back with my laptop to ask them to transfer their whole collection.
