My ReviewsA Charming GetawayIt wouldn’t surprise me to see someone at a nearby table get down on one knee and propose (no need to get scared fellas or ladies as a matter of fact). This small restaurant on the roof of the Little Arches boutique hotel is the ideal romantic setting. Quaint table lanterns and seating under the stars – you are satisfied even before you get the food. The menu is appealing to all – many people go for their Thurs and Fri night sushi which is good but still not on the level of Zen. However, the crazy rolls are quite fun and definitely a ‘must try’ TasteCreativityAtmosphereValueService

Tried and TrueChampers has been on the Barbadian dining scene for years and has always been popular. In my opinion, the change in location a few years ago was definitely for the better as the new setting is Incredible! The view right over the waters of the South Coast only enhance the experience at Champers. The fish dishes seem to be their specialty and I have never had a complaint. However, due to their popularity, I find the recent level of service a little inconsistent – some nights its impeccable and other nights not so great. The staff are always pleasant and willing to recommend a dish. The menu is quite varied and not badly priced in comparison to other fine dining restaurants. TasteCreativityAtmosphereValueService

CommentsFall In Love by the WaterOne of my Favourite restaurants in Barbados. Top-notch service and a great dining experience. The Pan-Fried Bay Scallops are a winner every time. The star treatment begins from the time you drive in – there is a complimentary valet service. The setting is right by the water surrounded by numerous trees and plants. Absolutely lovely – as with most West Coast restaurants, it is on the pricey side but, in my humble opinion, worth it when you are looking for a treat. TasteCreativityAtmosphereValueService

CommentsSit Back and RelaxThis laid-back bar is like those old jeans that you keep going back to – comfortable and welcoming. Nothing fancy to look at, the building has been around for ages but still attracts a strong local crowd. The music is selected according to the bartender’s fancy and on some nights you can listen to the sounds of a local musician. Have a drink and relax. Perfect for those nights where you don’t feel like dressing your best or spending a fortune. SexinessAtmosphereExcitementValueService

CommentsMy New 'Do'!Fun, fun, fun!!! Not being the world’s greatest singer, I do not sing in public as a general rule. However, I make an exception at Lexy’s (this is not to scare you away). From rock to pop to just all-time classics, the live performances at Lexy’s are a blast! Second Street where Lexy’s is located has now become a weekend hotspot and you will find people spilling out on the street, mingling and having a few drinks. The atmosphere is friendly and fun and will have you going back for more. For a good night out and perhaps the opportunity to discover your hidden vocal abilities (that you always knew you had) head to Lexy’s and dance the night away. CommentsA Unique TreatIf you have never been, then Harrison’s Cave is definitely an experience to put on the ‘must do’ list. These subterranean caves are fascinating – first you watch a short video about the caves (history etc.) and then you are given your hard hats and seated in the trams to head down below. A tour guide narrates you through the journey and you are given the opportunity to disembark at some point along the way. The tour through the cave itself is a little bit short, however, they are going through some renovations and I believe an extension is part of the plan. All in all, a worthwhile tour and something to do at least once. UniquenessChallengeExcitementValueService

CommentsA Diamond in the RoughHaving lived in the UK for a period of time, it amazed me how many people there spoke about Oistins as soon as Barbados was mentioned. Don’t go looking for luxury – but be prepared for the Best fish on the island!!! Grilled right in front of you, you have your choice of some local sides, including macaroni pie and grilled potatoes. Grab a bench and soak in the loud combination of music and loud conversation. Remember: Friday night is the night!!! Get there early or grab a drink and be prepared for a long wait. CommentsFor the Sushi Lover in YouThis restaurant is definitely a favourite with locals and tourists. From the minute you open the door, you step into an authentic Japanese setting. The waitresses are even dressed in kimonos! Being as popular as it is, service at times can be slow but the food is well worth it – highly recommend the Chirashi (a varied selection of sushi). There are several semi-enclosed private tables running along one side of the restaurant – these are quite nice especially for an intimate dinner or special occasion. However, for a ‘take your breath away’ kind of view, secure a table by the floor length glass windows overlooking Crane Beach. This restaurant is pricey but the experience brings me back again and again. TasteCreativityAtmosphereValueService
