Great Spot to Watch the Habs

This is a great place to watch a hockey game. They don’t serve anything except Molson Ex though with I’m not a fan of. They have cocktails but I’ve never tried then, but I heard that they serve them in sand buckets like they do at the full moon parties of Thialand’s Ko Samui. They have girls dancing on the bar during intermission which is pretty cool and a moose head with bras hanging on the antlers. It’s a man’s place to watch the game and might not be the best place for a first date. I would suggest checking it out because it’s pretty unique.

Christmas Party

We’ve had our company Christmas party here for 2 years now and it’s a great place to host a party for 50-80 people. I really like the arrangement with the bar and dining area below. It allows everyone to get a drink, socialize and relax before the dinner. They have a good selection of goodies stocked at the bar.

The food was good and the party after was great.

Different For Sure

If you want to try something different this is it. I love spices and they know how to use them at this place. The dishes are very flavorful and aromatic and I really like that. The coolest thing is that you eat with your hands and there are no utensils. They serve little crepe type things that you use to scoop and eat your meal. The only down side is stinky fingers at the end of the night.

I was very impressed with the service when I was there but I haven’t been in a while. Last time I was there there was a gentleman from Miami that had just arrived in Montreal and he was an amazing waiter. He was very pleasant and made sure that everything was spot on and I thought that was really cool.

Never Disappointed

I’ve been here several times because I work just 5 minutes away from it walking. They have a daily selection of sandwiches and salads and a dish of the day that usually sells out. I’ve never been disappointed with the taste of the delicious dishes served at lunch. I’ve even been told that the recipes go back to the owner’s Italian grandmother, but I’m not sure if this is true or just a rumor. I don’t even know if he’s actually Italian. He does however make a wicked grilled vegetable ciabatta sandwich with olive oil, and it’s amazing.

It’s definitely a unique location. It’s in an old warehouse type building in the western part of the old port in the “cité multimedia”. I’d say it’s kind of like a high end cafeteria experience and definitely worth trying.

Not Impressed

I took a group of 10 to this place in October on a Sunday and we had a horrible time. It was really sad because it was to celebrate a friend’s surprise visit from Toronto. She texted me that she was on her way to visit and she asked me to make arrangements for a dinner with our circle of friends.

I chose this place because it was BYOB, and the only thing that was good was the wine that I brought with me. We had a horrible table location and we were the only people in the restaurant, plus it took the rude waiter forever to just bring us water. It smelt like chemicals and there were weird fans blowing air away from us, I assume to keep the smell away. The service was probably the worst I have ever had. I can guarentee that if things don’t dramatically change, this place will be out of business within a year.

Thanks for the scoop Martin! I really need to find a good BYOB in Montreal, everyone is always asking for a good spot.

The Real Deal

I’ve been here several times and have never been disappointed. It’s the best place to have steak in Montreal without question. I love the bread and pickles that they serve right off the bat and I’m a huge fan of the Gibby’s salad, which is totally amazing. It’s so cool when they serve you a small scoop of lemon granita after the salad to cleanse the palate – impressive. Plus, I really like the old pewter tableware that they have there and it reminds me of when I was a child and would have Christmas supper at my Grandmother’s house. They really know how to keep a good tradition alive.

Most importantly, the service at this place is the best I have ever experience in Montreal.

Best Chicken I've Ever Eaten

I’m always excited to tell someone to go to this place because I feel like I’m taking some sort of credit for what they do there. I’ve been here more than 12 times and every single time I had to wait 10-20 minutes for my meal because of how popular it is to the local area. The taste of this chicken is different than any other chicken I’ve ever tatsed – salty, smokey, sweet, delious and moist. It’s so good that I think I might just have to go right now! You can get the 2 biggest half chicken meals I’ve ever seen for just under $20, so I’d say that’s a good deal.

You have to check this place out!

Good place to host a birthday party

A good friend of mine was turning twenty-eight so we decided to give this place a “shot” and reserved a table for ten for the night. Most of the our friends had never been here before so they didn’t know what to except. We all ended up having a great night because the pricing was reasonable, service was spot on and the music was a good mix of everything nice. The birthday boy and his girlfriend were very impressed and had a blast from what they remembered of it. The vibes were very relax and everyone around seemed to be enjoying themselves. There didn’t seem to be anyone trying to cause trouble like some of the other places I’ve been to around the city. I also really liked the super high ceilings in this place.

Great food and good times, happy hour specials too!

This place is really great!
They’ve got an amazing selection of oysters to choose from, even oysters from Japan! I started off with a dozen fresh oysters and a bottle of chablis, mmmmmm! Next, I had the all you can eat mussels and it was delicious. I had three choices of mussels and they were all really tasty: white wine, Thai curry, and tomato sauce. A+
The Service we received was on point. We were lucky enough to be served by the owner of the restaurant and she was very interactive and knowledgeable. I was very impressed with her passion for oysters. There are soooo many neat things about this place. The menus even explain history and facts about oysters I never knew.
This place is a must for any oyster enthusiast or person who wants to be impressed.
They’ve got specials for happy hour too!
