Delta Centre-Ville
Montreal | $$$$ | Website
The larger chain hotels have had a tough go of it in Montreal lately, due to an explosion in the trendy boutique style. While the latter certainly offer their advantages, bigger mainstays like the Delta Centre-Ville, around since 1977, also have their place in the city. Close to the train station, convention center, downtown and the Old Port, the Delta Centre-Ville is a great option for business travelers who like the Delta brand and the value it offers. Sure, the design might be a bit dated, but all the conveniences are hard to beat — with a very nice gym, pool, a great breakfast buffet, and Signature option for those who want extra perks like access to a private club lounge.
And we can't forget the Delta's famous restaurant: perched on top of the hotel, the restaurant rotates a full 360 degrees, so diners have changing views of the city during their meal.

The rooms are maybe a bit bigger than average
I visited the Delta Centre-Villa in October ’08. I find it hard to review big hotels, as they all do tend to offer the same checklist of basic amenities and comforts. The Delta Centre-Ville is no exception, though it does benefit from a really great location. Overall, the rooms are maybe a bit bigger than average, with tall windows to let lots of light in. If you are looking for something a bit more trendy here, there are a few really extraordinary suites, one of which (the Regency) must have more square feet than most local homes.
