Casino de Montreal
Montreal | $$ | Website
It’s hard to miss Montreal’s dazzling casino when you arrive into the city. Originally built as the French pavilion for Montreal’s world expo in 1967, the striking, shimmering structure on an isle in the river was renovated and repurposed as one of North America’s best gaming sites, opening its doors in 1993 and remaining open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week ever since.
With over 3,000 slot machines and 120+ gaming tables for the high-roller and amateur alike, Montreal’s casino ranks as one of the largest in the world, but it’s not all about blackjack and poker. There are also several restaurants on site – including the Five-Diamond rated Nuances – a spectacular cabaret show and meeting rooms, so you don’t have to be a gambler to enjoy the scene. Everyone over 18 is welcome, even if you just want to ride the escalators up and down the many brightly-lit floors. It’s swanky and welcoming all at the same time, plus you might just hit it big.

The Big "C".....great place to start the night
Ahhhh yes, the Big “C” as we call it with the boyz. There’s nothing like hoping in the Mustang with your best boyz and heading to the Casino prior to partying downtown. The valet parking ensures a quick entrance, head to the second floor where I suggest you have a warm up drink at the “Le Carre” bar. FYI….Unlike Vegas, you can’t walk around with booze so I’ll usually tip the bartender and kindly ask him for a cup of coffee…..with no coffee A triple rum and coke. If dealers ask you if there’s alcohol in that drink just say “it’s only coca cola”
I’ve been to many casinos around the world and overall I haven’t had much luck in Montreal….break even (The Wynn in Macau, China was very good to me). The Casino de Montreal now includes Texas Holdem Poker and features all the games a conventional casino offers. Friday / Saturday are fun nights…other times can be depressing as you’ll see older people gamble their pensions away, unable to hide their bitter faces. It’s a sad sight.
Ideally you’re out of there by 11pm and your heading downtown (15 mins by car) to spend your winnings. I wish they had built the casino a little closer to downtown but maybe it’s slightly isolated location is a good thing for us. If you play Roulette, I suggest always putting a little on 0….black 11 is my number…..good luck!

Pure Party Sights and Activites #3
Well what can I not say about the Casino de Montreal. Its is probably the one place that you always want to end up in at 4am on any given weekend night. At least we always think its a good idea when you have been drinking for the past couple of hours.
The Casino is a dangerous place however, as tired as you are when you step foot into the hallway you feel great, the blood is flowing and all you want to do is win the money you spent at that random bar with no memory of what happened…lol at least it has happened to me a few time.
I would recommend it only if you have control on yourself, it is very easy using that debit card, trust me its hard to say No to yourself. It is a great place to check out for sure, just dont spend your entire time there!

I don't remember the last time I was there, but are there lots of hookers in the casino, like IN AC and Vegas, not that that's a bad thing just curious...in AC it seems they are everywhere on a Saturday night...like they all
It's tough to control ourselves sometimes :) What's your favorite game?

I’m not a gambler, but I still love going to the casino on occasion. Weird? Maybe. But when 3am rolls around, the bars close and you’re not in the mood to go home, this 24-hour option is as good as any, plus it’s free to get in! Stretch $20 out on the slot machines and you can kill a few hours easily, if only on the people-watching around you. Montreal’s casino gets all kinds, from the uber-moneyed high rollers who head to the big tables, to 20-somethings like me just out to have a good time and try their luck, to those weird old ladies in fur coats who (in my opinion) should be in bed at 4am!

Will be in town for a BP from the 1st to the 4th of October, lots of activities planned, dinner at Q de C, a little golf...and of course hitting up the casino is a must...I like it all poker, roulette, blackjack, craps...do you know if they have the bonus texas hold em table game? It's not the regular texas hold em you play in the poker rooms, it's a table game played against the dealer similar to 3 card poker...the tables have little maps of texas where you place your ante, flop, turn and river bet...anyway I can't wait!
