La Mouche

La Mouche (French for “The Fly) is located on St. Denis street, literally across from the University of Quebec. It’s a popular club for young partygoers that always seems to have a line up on Friday / Saturday nights. There’s a spacious dance floor, good light show, and interestingly enough metal detectors greeting you upon your arrival.

The Fly

As the name entails, being proficient in french is a big plus when going to this club. Fridays and Saturdays are both big nights at La Mouche, you can expect to wait a long time in line before you get in. (The metal detectors and dress code don’t help the process either) For those wanting to dance this is a great spot. The roomy dance floor, crazy lights and deafeningly loud music make for a crazy night. I also really enjoy the lounge area, it’s a little bigger and nicer then in other clubs. It’s also a little farther from the traffic of the dance floor which allows for a more intimate experience.

Although La Mouche does have a strict dress code, every so often they host great events which do include some dress code free nights. One of these such nights is the International Freeski Film Festival’s opening party. If you’re into the sport of skiing I would suggest dropping by in mid September next year!

I was a little sketched out when I saw those metal detectors but the place seems to be very busy on weekends....
