Newtown Club

Montreal | $$$

Newtown is famous partly because one of the owners is Formula One race car driver and local hero Jacques Villeneuve. This club and restaurant was launched several years ago after a reportedly US$5.3 million was spent to transform two townhouses on Crescent Street into a one stop entertainment spot. Featuring a full dance flow in the basement, large barroom on the main floor, restaurant above and a rooftop terrace during the warmer summer months (June - September). Both the lounge and restaurant areas are chic and well designed often attracting an older crowd.

Pure Party Review Number 2

I have been to the Newtown Club a few times in the past couple of years and to be honest with you it never changes. It is always filled with the same type of people and no one is really that friendly. All the bars on Cresent street have a very tourist vibe so if you really want to experience Montreal I would suggest going elsewhere. However, the bartenders at this place are smokin hot! you pay for what you get as the drinks are about $10 each and are really not worth the wait.
But if there is nothing else available on the block and you want to see if you can meet some English travelers from the USA or anywhere for that matter I would suggest Newtown.
