La Sirene de La Mer
Montreal | $$$$ | Website
Serving Lebanese, Mediterranean and Seafood, La Sirene is the perfect restaurant for intimate dinners, business lunches and family events. Not only does La Sirene serve the best Lebanese food in town, but you can also pick your own fresh seafood right next door in their fresh fish shop.
With two separate locations, La Sirene is located about 20 minutes (drive) outside the downtown area. I've been going to this restaurant before my early teens with my family and I can swear by the whole menu but my absolute favorite dishes are the grilled squid, tabouleh, fatouche, babaganouch, hummus, Raw Kibbeh, and shish kebabs (filet mignon & chicken)
The restaurants gets pretty busy throughout the weeknights and weekends so make sure to make a reservation a day in advance.

The best grilled octopus I've ever tasted!
I recently met some Lebanese people from Montreal on the beach here in Mexico and one of the first things that came up was “have you tried La Sirene?” If you’re Lebanese and living in Montreal, there’s a 99% chance you’ve been to this restaurant! I love La Sirene….the food here is very good.
I’ll usually order the grilled Octopus which is still to this day the best I’ve tasted. The raw kibee is also one of my favorites. What’s cool about this restaurant is that you can walk into their fresh fish market which is attached to the restaurant. You can select fresh tuna, salmon, caviar if you’d like and they’ll have it prepared for you, delivered to your table. I did this once and wasn’t blown away; they killed the tuna by drowning it in too much sesame seed seasoning but the fish was fresh.
It’s an old school décor where the host seems to remember everyone who walks in the door. This guy has been around long enough to recognize young kids who’ve grown up and are now taking their loved ones to La Sirene. So if you want excellent Lebanese food, La Sirene de la Mer is a must!

One Of Montreal's best Lebanese Restaurants
I’ve been going to La Sirene since I was about “yay high”….probably since I was about 8 or 10 years old when appetizers were priced at an average of 3$ per dish and 20 years later, they’re priced at an average of $11 per dish! Inflation, Inflation Inflation.
This is definitely not the “trendy” restaurant but caters to more high profile families, so you’re not going to people watch and ambiance but rather just for the quality of the food!
La Sirene has a Seafood market adjoined to the restaurant, so you can pick your own fish for your main dish.
My favorite dishes are: Kibby Neeyeh (raw beef), Tabouleh, Hummus, babaganoush, grilled octopus, fried calamari…etc.
There are now 3 locations – Jean Talon, L’acadie and St. Jean’s (west island)

BRAVO
