Le Nil Bleu
Montreal | $$
Le Nil Bleu (Blue Nile) is an Ethiopian restaurant in Saint Denis street. The experience here is something different, the common dish, the eating with your hands, the exotic spices. Eating there is an event in itself, more than just food. Talk with the people you are and share the experience is a big part of the night.

Different For Sure
If you want to try something different this is it. I love spices and they know how to use them at this place. The dishes are very flavorful and aromatic and I really like that. The coolest thing is that you eat with your hands and there are no utensils. They serve little crepe type things that you use to scoop and eat your meal. The only down side is stinky fingers at the end of the night.
I was very impressed with the service when I was there but I haven’t been in a while. Last time I was there there was a gentleman from Miami that had just arrived in Montreal and he was an amazing waiter. He was very pleasant and made sure that everything was spot on and I thought that was really cool.

Excellent food with a secret upstairs
An excellent Ethiopian restaurant with a tasteful, modern décor and great atmosphere.
The food was particularly well-made example of Ethiopian, and the prices quite reasonable for what you get.
For those not familiar with Ethiopian, most dishes typically arrive with a scattering of meat and vegetables on a slightly spongy bread that you tear off and use to pick up what’s there.
Not a great choice for a first date, as a result, but if you’re all friendly it’s a fun experience. Ethiopian is generally also a very vegetarian-friendly cuisine.
There is a hotel above that is one of the top secret finds on in the neighbourhood, Hotel Kutuma.
