Mikado
Montreal | $$$ | Website
Mikado is a Japanese restaurant situated in the trendy Mile-End district of Montreal. The menu features an extensive selection of Maki, Nigiri and Sashimi sushi dishes and has some good options, such as the vegetarian or spicy chicken sushi rolls, for the diner who is not quite ready to eat raw fish. For non-sushi lovers there are other classic Japanese dishes on the menu, like teriyaki chicken. Mikado has a casual vibe to it and is simply decorated – if you're a real sushi lover, the best seat in the house is at the sushi bar, where you get to watch the skilled chefs at work. This sushi restaurant is a safe choice with its fresh good food at a moderate price.

Expensive, but sometimes worth it
Well I have been a fan of Sushi ever since one of the Poulin boys introduced it to me a couple of years ago. Before then I had never than into the Raw fish thing. So since this time I have come accustom to enjoying sushi and knowing the difference between fresh and not fresh.
I have been to Mikado quite a few times and have always been satisfied with the service and the quality of food. Although the price it still remains one of my favorite. I would not however go with just any date…she would have to be a special date! not everyone can know all the great Sushi places in Montreal.Visit Mikado if you are someone who can taste the difference between good and bad sushi, if you dont really care too much I would suggest just a regular Sushi Shop….you will save the cash and be able to buy more drinks later

A little pricey but won't be disappointed
I am an avid sushi eater and have tried many places. Mikado is a GOOD sushi restaurant. It is rather small but therein lies the charm. It is cozy and you can sit in private rooms with seats on the floor, to really have the Japanese authenticity – great for a date!
You can also sit by the sushi bar and watch the chef at work – never a dull moment watching these guys do their thing – for some reason, my sushi rolls never turn out quite like theirs do :)
Just keep in mind that it is a little expensive but if you are looking for a high quality sushi, you won’t be disappointed.
