Playa Del Carmen review:

If you haven’t heard about Playa Del Carmen by now, well, you’re missing out. Located south of Cancun, this town is one of the fastest growing cities in Mexico. There are many reasons for its spectacular growth and the first being….it’s simply a beautiful place. The beaches, the people, the history, Playa Del Carmen is an interesting destination.

Walk along 5th Avenue and you’ll quickly notice that this hot destination has attracted tourists from Italy, Argentina, central Mexico, Canada and more recently the US. Playa offers both high end cuisine and good old fashion tacos. Shop or vacation in a high end villa, all inclusive hotel or double down and book a basic hotel room….all options are available here.

Enjoy the beaches and active nightlife on 12th but do make an effort to see some of the cultural side of Playa Del Carmen. Book a day trip and see some pyramids, scuba dive in Cozumel or simply venture out of your hotel and head past 12th avenue as far as 40th if you want to get a feeling of where the locals hang out.
