[Description by Blue Parrot] In Playa del Carmen, the Blue Parrot Beach Club has been a "must-do" for visitors for over two decades. Located directly on the white sand beaches of the turquoise Caribbean; the waves literally break just feet from our dance floor.
During the day, lounge on our beachfront and soak up the sun and sea while our daytime DJ guides you through a gentle sensual journey. There's no need to go anywhere else. We offer full service food and beverage from 7:30 A.M. until 6:00 P.M.
Come nightfall, the Beach Club undergoes a magical transformation as top international DJ's deliver an eclectic mix of music in three different environments. Our beach dance floor tends to feature more pop and retro, while the Palapa Lounge offers the progressive dance mix that our Latin American and European customers tend to prefer. For a more relaxed chill out vibe, the palapa-covered sky bar offers dramatic overviews of the Caribbean and the beachfront dance floor.

If you’re looking to dance on the beach, Blue Parrot is your best option (followed closely by neighboring Coco Maya). Head to the back of this beach club and you’ll find a long bar leading to the elevated dance floor. If you need to cool down from all that MJ playing, walk a few steps and you’re right on the beach!
As you’re walking in, look to your right, that’s where they usually play house music. It’s a nice open area with a few places to sit. Most people head to the back where the music is more mainstream dance.

Episodes at Blue Parrot
Playa Del Carmen attracts tourists mostly from Europe, South and Central America, Mexico and now starting to migrate to this rustic/trendy town are North Americans, and Blue Parrot is THE SPOT for American tourists looking to wind and grind with the each other and the local mexicans!! The music varies from latin rock, hip hop, reggaeton and reggae and you can dance the night away on the dance floor located on the beach, or swing the night away, on their fun swings for seats by the bar.
You can also listen to techno, house and dance music at the other dance floor located inside the bar.
Here’s a quick tip for the guys: If it’s open bar for women, don’t try to cheat by asking your girlfriend or lady friends to get a drink for you. My brother got caught recently taking a free drink from his lady friend, and ended up getting in a fight with the bar manager. Within minutes, he had a mob of 10 security guards jumping my 6’6” brother for innocently taking a sip of the drink! He also had a security guard break a beer bottle on his head and was instantly hemorrhaging!!! SO FYI…also stay away from the security as they tend to be overly aggressive for nothing!!!!

Depends what you're looking for...
Mexico. Dance floor on the beach. Cheap drinks. Sounds good to me.
I travelled to Playa del Carmen with my rugby team last November and the Blue Parrot was one of our favourite places to go. Yes, Jazz, many of us were trying to pick up.
It’s just a great place to party. If you’re looking for a place to chill out, this isn’t the spot. If you want good music in a great location where just about anything goes, this is the place for you.
