Coco Bongo in Playa Del Carmen is much smaller than its Cancun version but the show they feature is just as exciting. The concept is interesting, one price and it’s all you can drink. Throughout the night the club features various shows like Michael Jackson, The Mask, Spiderman etc.. mixing music with live entertainment.

Seeing the show once was good enough for me
I will never forget my first Coco Bongo experience in Cancun. I had at this point (November 2004) never seen such a large scale production that mixed live entertainment with music, dancing, all in a club! Since then Coco Bongo has added a club in Playa Del Carmen, albeit a much smaller version.
We were there 2,3 months ago and in a way I was a little disappointed. Maybe it’s because I’m older now, or that this club is smaller than the one in Cancun….or maybe I was a little more sober! Either way the all you can drink price is great value for your money and I think it’s something that people should see once…..that’s enough.
Coco Bongo features various shows throughout the night, so while you’re dancing boom….lights brighten, special effects kick in high gear and next thing you know it you think you’re watching Michael Jackson live!
Just a warning though….lots of locals here are very much into grabbing your hot girlfriend and taking pictures of any skin they see. If I was a single girl I would REALLY watch my drinks, it’s sketchy in this respect. Example….I order a beer, the waiter walks a few steps, sees that a beer lying on a table hasn’t been touched, grabs it and walks back towards me to offer it. No thanks buddy….I was sober enough to see it happen.

A Wild Ride of a night including all of your Favorite Characters
I can only say one thing about the Club…Crazy!. I was at Coco Bongo with a few friends of mine 2 years ago. I have heard so much about it, but never realized that this experience would be on that I would never forget. The show would not stop all night, the people would come out of everywhere! Beetle Juice, Mask, The Pop King himself Mr. Jackson! It was a sight that was a little blurry because of the Open Bar concept…but Hey I still do have the famous picture that was taken of the both of us.
I would recommend going to Coco Bongo to experience exactly what it is. Although it is very Americanized I would still say it would be a good idea just to check it out and let me know what you think. There is always a lot of tourists running around and if you tip the servers well you will be VIP all night Long and maybe even get on stage.

Bring on the "Cheese" and the A/C !!
The shows are very entertaining but extremely cheesy! My friends and I had a great time singing and dancing along to Shania Twain and Guns n’ Roses. We were taken on stage to dance and ended up staying there for about 3 hours dancing. (They actually didn’t want us to get off the stage) If you are going to go to Coco Bongo you must be pepared to have drunken people falling all over you. So…Girls, get on stage if you can to avoid the drunken messes below. We had a great time and I was very thankful for the Air Conditioning!!
