The budget traveler and locals love L'Ambasade
Every Tuesday and Thursday after rugby practice, the old boyz will gather here for a few beers. One of the owners of L’Ambasade plays rugby with Playa Del Carmen. The place is definitely a popular watering hole for locals…it seems to have a good group every night. They offer 1 liter foam cups of beers for only 50 pesos ($3.96 US) which is a great deal. It probably explains why L’Ambasade is a hit with locals; it’s a great bar to hit before going out dancing.
There’s a second floor where larger groups will hang out. The stairs on the way up can be tricky, each step seems to be a different size….or maybe it’s those beers? The washrooms are very basic….as in it’s a curtain for the guys and a damaged plastic door for the ladies. Keep in mind this is a local watering hole, ideal for the budget traveler.
