ComoComo

5th Avenue, between 38th and 40th | $$$ | Website

The creation of Stefano Dal Ben and his business partner, Giovanni De Carlo, ComoComo is inviting, impeccably designed, and simply delicious. On any given night, both partners are in the restaurant hosting friends and visitors in a style that’s completely Italian. They’ll put several tables together to host a large group, but you can also have a very intimate dinner without interruptions.

Talk of the town

I first heard about ComoComo from Amy who wrote an article on this new restaurant for Tripulu. I’ve been in Playa for about 3 weeks now and have eaten at ComoComo 3 times already. Three times in the last 6 days to be exact. Why? Here’s why…

1. I’m all about value and ComoComo defines value. For what you pay and what you receive, ComoComo scores a perfect 5 value stars. Try the tuna tartare…really good. To give you an example, last night dinner for 3 people which included a bottle of wine, entrees, main dishes and 2 deserts came up to about $120 USD.

2. The service here is very good. My first night here we showed up with a group of 5 without any reservations. The restaurant was full so we decided to wait. They kindly brought each of us a glass of red wine and apologized for the wait. That to me is amazing, we never asked for anything and they went out of their way to make us feel wanted. These guys just get it.

3. It’s close to home :)

So, if you’re coming to Playa Del Carmen and you want a great meal for a really fair price come to ComoComo.
